Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Houston County Criminal History. Visiting, reading, or using a search feature signals acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Houston County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, Texas, or federal government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act purposes. The resource points readers to Houston County criminal-record offices. It is not a private investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It does not store official records, retrieve documents, perform official checks, or file paperwork for a visitor.

Its role is to identify record holders such as the Houston County Sheriff, local criminal courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, while also providing access to outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the service is conditioned on these restrictions. A visitor must not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate. Such conduct may also be criminal. Texas law and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry warnings place added limits on registry misuse. Registry data serves community safety, not vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Houston County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, background reports, or any other consumer report. Its advertising partners are not presented as providers for regulated screening. Data from this service or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A lawful regulated purpose requires an appropriate official process through the Texas Department of Public Safety or a compliant consumer reporting provider.

5. No Legal Advice

General information about Houston County records is not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can assess how a pending charge, warrant, conviction, expunction, or nondisclosure law applies to specific facts.

6. No Warranties

All material is offered "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, restrictions, contacts, and portal content can change. Gaps may occur, and no statement here is an official declaration by a sheriff, court, clerk, or Texas agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may open Houston County offices, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Those destinations are independently controlled. Their content, privacy choices, prices, and availability are their responsibility, so read their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Houston County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damage arising from use of the website or reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the service or a breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised. An updated version takes effect when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected language is adjusted only to the extent needed for enforcement.
